A charitable foundation providing financing for biodiversity conservation initiatives.
To promote research and concrete initiatives in the field of biodiversity.
The Foundation works in three areas: environmental conservation; scientific research; patient care; and protection of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Funding is provided through initiatives and standalones (advised on the website), while unsolicited proposals cannot be considered.
The Foundation is active in various activities that are relevant to desertification and land degradation, such as:
- Andes-Amazon Initiative for the protection of biodiversity in the amazon basin area;
- Land Conservation in the San Francisco Bay Area for the protection of local ecosystems; and
- Funds administered in conjunction with Conservation International - which include conservation-friendly land use, research in environmental science and conservation-related changes to the existing policy framework.
Initiatives relying on innovative strategies are particularly welcome.
