Description
GIZ works with a wide set of partners, including:
- The German government and federal institutions: the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Federal Foreign Office; Federal Ministry for the Environment; Federal Ministry of Defence; Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology; and Federal Ministry for Education and Research;
- Private Companies: by providing financing to support their development activities in developing countries;
- The European Commission: by monitoring opportunities for the German public and private sectors and as a participant in tenders for EU funding;
- International institutions: by collaborating as a partner in multilateral financing activities. The main focus areas for this type of partnership are energy; climate; health; infrastructure; water; and governance;
- Governments of developing countries: by serving as a bilateral donor for projects in the areas of vocational training; energy and climate; health care; infrastructure and construction; water; and good governance.
