FOCUS AREA
The Aga Khan Foundation primarily works as an implementing agency; however, grants can be issued to grassroots organizations that work on the field. New organizations can occasionally be created to fill specific gaps that would prevent valuable activities from being implemented.
The Foundation has four main priority areas: education; rural development; health care; and the empowerment of civil society. Relevant cross-cutting issues include human resources development; community participation; gender; and the environment. Priority will be given to initiatives that use innovative approaches.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis: enquiries must be addressed to one of the country offices.
