Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) is a division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The agency is in charge of implementing a global cooperation programme for social, economic and environmental development.

Description

MASHAV operates in the framework of the Millennium Development Goals, with a focus on the goals of poverty reduction; food security; women empowerment; and provision of education and health services. The agency mainly acts as a provider of training courses and technical assistance.

MASHAV is active in various areas that are particularly relevant for the implementation of the UNCCD, such as desert agriculture; irrigation; and sustainable management of natural resources. In these sectors, preference is given to small-scale activities and micro projects.
